I know owning a vehicle isn't really a big deal...except if you're me. Being stranded at the house, begging for rides from people sorta loses its appeal after a few days, let alone 3 w
eeks. So I had to pretty much double my car budget to get any thing decent. So there she is, my Toyota Corolla hatch. She's missing two Hub-Caps, but to be honest, she looks better with just the black wheels, and I might flick the two remaining hub caps off to even it up. I had the urge to take her for a random spin today, even though I had no where I needed to go, I almost took off, but then the thought of losing and wasting petrol turned me off the idea. Especially when I dont have any funds coming in, I sorta cant afford to be driving her all over town.
I watched 'Apocalypto' last night. I thought the violence was going to be worse than it was. Its funny with these ancient people, you tend to forget that they were real people with real emotions and real situations. Apocalypto displayed that beautifully, from the quite humorous pranks they play on each other, to facing the prospect of losing everything they'd ever called home. All through it, I couldn't help to think of the people as being Lamanites, and their history and origin.
I had a pretty pleasant day with Eli today. Rage was on T.V and he wanted me to dance with him, so he pulled me off the couch and we danced, but then he wanted me to pick him up and dance...he's a little champ. The little sayings he comes out with just cracks me up. I dont know where he picks it all up from, but he just sounds like a little adult when he speaks. "There we go, Lauren, there we go." .
Two more months until.......Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street comes out on DVD. I've been waiting for that for so long. It didnt come out at the Cinemas in Hobart or Albany. A musical about a Revengeful Barber. Only Tim Burton could seriously pull it off, and im sure he did. He can make anything work. He made a children dispiser Willy Wonka work.
So I was studying my Sunday School lesson today, it's on Jacob chapter 5 from the Book of Mormon, the longest chapter in History and probably one of the most metaphorical chapters in history also. The Book of mormon simplified online made it pretty easy to understand.
Well I am going to go and get a movie out...there's seriously no good new releases out at the moment, a trusty old weekly will have to do.
So-long till next time.
