So the last two days I've had the opportunity to watch the church 178th Annual General Conference addresses (From Salt Lake City, Utah, where the Church leaders address the people about certain issues and topics related to the church and the world, for our benefit)
Whenever a new Prophet is called, they have a Solemn Assembly, where everyone sustains the new Prophet and his counsellors and apostles. I've never been a part of that before. We watched it Via sattelite from Sydney. The Saturday sessions were available to watch at Glen Huon. I watched the morning session, that was really great.
The Sunday morning and afternoon sessions were held at the Stake Centre at Glenorchy.
The morning session was packed out. Dallin and I got there about 25 mins early and there were only a few spaces on the pews left. The Hall was opened and chairs were set up at the back.
My favorite talk during the morning session was Sister Susan Tanner's talk on Delighting in the Things of the Lord, and loving and delighting in what is right. For some reason I really love talks given by women, they seem to show heaps more emotion and feeling.
My favorite talk in the afternoon session was Elder Bednar, of the quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
He spoke about Asking in Faith in order to give more meaningful prayers. I got heaps from that. Elder Bednar has still got a place in my heart after he Visited Australia and did those
Question and Answer sessions.
Brother Zwick of the Seventy was really good too, I forgot to write notes on his talk, but I put an * next to his name, coz I remember it was awesome.
President Monson was the concluding speaker at the final session, he gave a pretty light hearted but meaningful talk. It was good, I was so tired by the end of it, but his jokes and humour woke everyone up a bit I think. He's a pretty funny man, he's 80, but you

wouldn't know it. He was destined to be a prophet of the Lord...He was Bishop of his Ward when he was only 22! How young is that! And then he became mission president at 28! He's been in the quorum of the 12 apostles for 48 years or something like that.
He's been counsellor to three presidents to the church. Talk about being Foreordained.
So I got home and Mel told me that the Manager from Banjo's bakery rang back, and I needed to call her. So I did, and she told me that she has a place for me there! So that's cool. She's ordered my uniform already, and she's gonna call me today to talk about my roster and when I can start.
So 6am starts here I come! It'll be good for me, good to help me become more of a morning person, and getting to bed earlier too.
So hopefully my gear from Wridgways should arrive today. I called them and said it's in Hobart. Its been 5 weeks, so im getting a lil impatient.
So-long...
